Alimamy
This is my older sister.  She is married.  She has two children.  After she had the two kids, her husband left.  She returned to my parents.  They tried to talk to the husband, but he said he didn’t want her anymore.
This is a picture of me, Alimamy.  I live at #2 Soldier Street near the police station.  This is the room where I sleep with my friends.  It is behind the workshop where I am learning to sew.  The landlord has given us notice.  We have to find another place to live soon.  It is very difficult to find housing in Freetown after the war.

After I have sewn or done laundry, I like to sit down in this place and lean against the door.  When it is hot, it is cool there.  I can enjoy the breeze and feed our dog.

This is a picture of my two youngest sisters.  The older one goes to school.  The little one doesn’t go to school.  The boy drowned recently in the river.
This is my family house.  The government broke the house.  They told us too leave.  The government told us that our paperwork wasn’t complete.  We had just finished building the house.  After we received permission from the government, we started to build again. The second time we built the place, Sister Cami gave us money to buy zinc pans.  The government tore down the house again.  Whenhis happened, my father was fed proper permits, the officials ate (stole) the money.  When this happened, my father was fed up, discouraged, and frustrated.  He has nowhere to turn.  He has given up.  He isn’t doing anything now.
